MFA Member David Diaz
MFA President David Diaz was awarded the top prize Mayoral Award at the Art in the Open painting competition in Wexford, Ireland, Europe’s largest plein air painting event. His oil on panel painting, “The Hook,” depicts the oldest working lighthouse in Europe.
MFA Member Carole Falk
Carole Falk was the juror for the annual show of the Annapolis Watercolor Club. The exhibition is at the Annapolis Maritime Museum through September 12, 2015.
MFA Member Carolyn Councell
Carolyn’s artwork (watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, and oil paintings) will be on display at Wood’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Severna Park, MD. The exhibit will be on display through October 11, 2015.
MFA Member Maureen Farrell
Maureen Farrell’s painting “Moving Forward” was awarded the Holbein Award at the 18th Annual International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP) Exhibition at Paso Robles, California.
MFA Member Ric Conn
Ric has been selected for a show at the Louisville Art Association, 800 Jefferson Ave. Louisville, Colorado 80027. The show runs from September 5 to September 13.
MFA Member David Terrar
David is participating in the Bethany Beach Arts Festival. This outdoor fine arts festival features features local and national artists with an array of mediums. Come see David’s work on Garfield Street, Bethany Beach DE, on September 12, 2015.
MFA Member Angela Petruncio
Angela’s work was just presented in a pop up exhibit on Maryland Public Television’s “Artworks” series. Watch the episode here (episode 336)!
MFA Member Lee Goodwin
Lee’s photographs will be on display in several MD and DC shows. Three of Lee’s photographs will be in the “Be the Voice” exhibit at the Gallery at Iona from September 16-November 1. Additionally, 20 photographs from his “Chesapeake Bay – Endangered Landscape” series are on permanent display in the Maryland House of Delegates Office Building in Annapolis in the Environment and Transportation Committee Hearing Room and the offices and conference rooms of the Appropriations Committee.

MFA Member Anthony Lazorko
Anthony has a solo show titled “American Grain: Seeking America in Woodcuts” at the Centre Diffusion Presse Papier in Quebec, Canada from July 30-September 6.
MFA Member Anne Sieling
Anne has a pastel piece on display at Quiet Waters Park’s “Pastel Viewpoints” exhibition. Two of Anne’s pastels will hang in the “Shades of Pastel” exhibit at the Hill Center from October 3-28, and her work is also included in the BWI “Reflections” exhibit. Anne also won an award from the Avalon Foundation at the Easton Plein Air Festival’s Beginners Quick Draw Competition.
MFA Member Wil Scott
Wil’s photo, “Capturing a Shadow”, is in the exhibition “Still” at the A. Smith Gallery in Johnson City, TX. The exhibiton runs from August 14-September 27. In addition, Wil’s piece “Trapped” is on exhibition from September 4-30 at the Southeast Center for Photography in Greenville SC in the exhibition titled “Black, White, and Everything In Between”.
MFA Member Richard Weilinger
Richard has a solo invitational exhibition of twelve of his images at the Montpelier Arts Center Library Gallery, Laurel, MD from September 11 to November 1. The reception is on September 11 from 7-9pm. Richard’s artwork is also on display at the juried invitational exhibition at the Hill Center Galleries in Washington, DC from June 25 to September 29.
MFA Member Desiree Scherini
Desiree will be participating in the 3rd Annual Summer Plein Air Show and Paint Out at Crystal Moll Gallery. The exhibition runs from August 5 to September 25 with a reception on August 8th from 4-7 pm.
MFA Member c.l. bigelow
MFA Member c.l. bigelow has a solo exhibition currently on display at Maryland Hall’s Martino Gallery. The show, titled “Reflection” is on display until August 31st.

MFA Member Kellee Wynne Conrad has a solo exhibition at Jordan Faye Contemporary and is the first of their Thrive artists to participate in the Residency Program. There will be an opening reception Friday, July 31 from 7 – 10 pm. The show, titled “pen*ti*men*to” runs July 31st – September 5, 2015.
MFA Members juried by National Gallery of Art Curator
MFA Members Christopher Fowler, Wil Scott, Richard Weiblinger, and Richard Niewerth are pleased to announce that their pieces have been included in a juried exhibition at the Hill Center, 921 Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Washington DC. The opening reception will be held on June 25th from 6:00PM-8:00PM and the exhibition will be on display through September 29th.

MFA Member April Rimpo
MFA Member April Rimpo’s solo exhibit, Modes of Transportation is opening at Glenview Mansion on August 2 with a reception from 1:30-3:30pm. The exhibit runs through August 21st. Glenview Mansion is at 603 Edmonston Drive, Rockville MD 20851. Hours are MWF 9am-4:30pm, TuTh 9am-9pm.

The Maryland Sheep Breeders Association would like to announce the 2016 Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival Cover Art Competition, featuring a grand prize of $1000 and up to four $100 honorary mention awards. Maryland Hall: Art Alive Gala Fundraiser and Silent Auction
Maryland Hall’s biggest fundraising event is coming up! September 11th is their annual Gala and silent auction and they need you to contribute. If you wish to donate your pieces please fill out the Arts Alive Silent Auction Donation Form and return at your earliest convenience with gift certificates, promotional brochures and any other materials to Maryland Hall, 801 Chase Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Tangible donations are due by Friday, September 4th.
