MFA Members participating in DeColArt Design Show House / Art Gallery
Farnady Interiors has partnered with Wellness House of Annapolis and Coldwell Banker, pulling in designers and artists to create a unique show house /art gallery event at the converted Parish House at the corner of Price George Street, Unit #2, 39 1/2 Maryland Avenue. Each room is presented by a designer, paired with a local artist, nine featured artists and three additional artists with small works. MFA artists included are c. l. bigelow, Carol Donahue, Patrice Drago, Gail Higginbotham, Katherine Hooray Osmond, Jennifer Wilkinson Rynbrandt, and Kellee Wynne Conrad. The DeColArt Show House experience is open to the public daily for six days, December 10 – 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the door, with all proceeds benefiting the Wellness House. Richard is pleased to announce that twelve of his photographs are included in Magical Realism at the Arts Barn Gallery (311 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg, MD). The show runs from Nov 20th through Dec 27th.

MFA Member Warren Kornberg
Warren will be mounting an exhibit from Nov 22nd to Dec 24th at the Penn Place Art Gallery, Garrett Park, MD 20896. On exhibit will be some 15 or so black and white photographs, many of which have never been shown before.
Annapolis Arts Alliance Needs You for a Mentoring Program
Who: Novice Artists and Experienced Artists. Open to all of the arts, music, poetry, painting, photography, etc. Novice artists should have rudimentary experience and be willing to publically display and sell their art. Experienced artists should be willing to volunteer their knowledge.
What: This year-long program pairs novice artists with experienced artists for six sessions of art enrichment. The program culminates in a public showing and/or performance. The art created will be available for sale.
When: The 2016 program will take place during three different seasons. There will be two sessions each season when each artist pair works together, each creating their own piece.
Where: All sessions and the public show will take place at Quiet Waters Park. All Artists will find inspiration from a common, seasonal spot within the park. Rain date will be the following week.
Winter: Ice Rink, March 5: 9 am – noon, March 12: 10 am – 11 am
Spring: Music Pavilion Meadow, June 4: 10 am – noon, June 18: 10 am – 11 am
Summer: Harness Creek, August 27: 10 am – noon, Sept.10: 10 am – 11 am
Public Show: October 19 – November 13, 2016, Reception Oct. 23 afternoon
Cost: Artists are expected to prepare their art for public viewing/performance and bring food and/or supplies to the opening reception. There may be a small fee to cover the costs of the final show.

Bethesda Painting Awards DEADLINE Feb 19th
The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District invites eligible artists to enter theBethesda Painting Awards. Artists must be 18 years of age or older and permanent, full-time residents of Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C. The selected artwork will be on exhibit in June 2016 at Gallery B in downtown Bethesda, MD.
Bethesda Fine Arts Festival
The Bethesda Fine Arts Festival features 130 booth spaces. All original fine art and fine craft is eligible to apply. All work must be created by the artist; no manufactured or mass produced work is eligible. All artists must provide their own white tents and weights.

Bethesda Film Fest
The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District is accepting submissions for the fourth annual Bethesda Film Fest, scheduled for Mar 18th -19th, 2016.
Selected filmmakers will be invited to show their documentary at the formal screening and receive a $500 honorarium. Filmmakers in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. are eligible to submit a short documentary film, 5-30 minutes in length. All topics are eligible and films must have been completed in the last two years. Young filmmakers, under 18 years of age, are also eligible to apply.

Looking to brush up on your acrylics or watercolors?
Christine O’Neill will be hosting a workshop and a series of classes at the Chesapeake Fine Arts Studio. MFA Members will be given a 10% discount!
In this workshop, both traditional (thick, tube acrylics) and newer types of acrylics will be addressed (Golden fluid Acrylics). We will work on both canvas and watercolor paper.
This workshop will be 3 hrs. in the morning(9-12) devoted to demonstration and hands on work with tube acrylics and canvas. (lunch 12-1)
Afternoon 3 hrs. (1-4) working with both tube acrylics and Golden fluid acrylics on watercolor paper.
The use of acrylics as a water base medium will be discussed – how it can be used like oils and like watercolors. It’s a very forgiving medium to work with and can be combined with watercolors.
Come – enjoy a change of mediums – a cross over between watercolors and oils! 6 hrs, $90.00.
Friday, January 15th.
Also – A four week Watercolor course, where we will continue to pursue pure watercolors, watercolors and acrylics together, and acrylics alone. Both mediums can be used in this class if you like! 3 hrs. classes, $160 for 4 weeks from 1-4pm. Dates – Jan. 20, 27, Feb. 3 & 10
