MFA Member Anna Fine Foer
Anna would like to invite you all to an opening reception for a group exhibition she participated in called Nowhere Everywhere Now Here about Utopia and Dystopia at the Thompson Gallery, Cambridge School of Weston Mass. The show runs from April 1st through June 18th with a reception on April 1st from 4:00Pm to 7:00PM.
She would also like to announce her upcoming solo exhibition called Photography: A Sense of Place at the Black Rock Art Center from April 1st through May 1st. There will be a reception on April 10th from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.
MFA Member Wil Scott
Wils piece “Jumbo” will hang in the Center For the Fine Arts Photography in Fort Collins, CO from Jun 17th through July 23rd.
His piece “Midsummer Dream”, which was recently awarded an honorable mention the Art League of Alexandria, was juried into Water at the Southeast Center for Photography in Greenville, SC. That show runs from May 6th through the 31st.
“Naval Academy Bridge” will be shown in All That Art at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. The show runs fromApril 18th through the 29th.
MFA Member Alex Tolstoy
Alex was recently awarded an honorable mention from CHAL for their show Appetite for Art. The show runs from Mar 5th through April 15th at the CHAW gallery. They also received an honorable mention by the Art League of Alexandria for their show at the Torpedo Factory.
MFA Member Carol Donahue
Carol has been accepted int the River Gallery Annual Community Juried Art Show (1000 Main St, Galesville, MD 20765). The show runs from now till April 24th with an opening reception on March 13th, 2:00PM to 4:00PM.

Patricia is one of five artists that have been selected for a exhibit at Gallery B called Arts of March. The show opens March 2nd and runs through the 26th with a reception on Mar 11th from 6:00PM to 9:00PM with live music. For gallery information, click here!
MFA Member Mary Ellen Geissenhainer
Mary’s colored pencil piece “First Field Trip” has been selected by juror Greg Mort for the Howard County Conservancy 2016 Art of Stewardship: Nature Through the Artist’s Eyes exhibition. The show runs from Mar 11th through April 8th with a opening reception on Mar 11th at 7:00PM (10520 Old Frederick Road, Woodstock, MD 21163)
Two of Mary’s pieces have also been juried into Art at the Mill in the historic Burwell-Morgan Mill in Millwood, VA (32 East Main Street, Berryville, Virginia 22611). The show opens April 23rd and runs through May 8th with a reception on May 1st, 4:00PM to 6:00PM.
MFA Member Desiree Scherini
Desiree has been juried into the Chadds Ford Historical Society plein air painting event. There will be a reception for the artwork on Apr 9th at the Sanderson Museum (1755 Creek Rd, Chadds Ford, PA)
MFA Member c. l. bigelow, Patrice Drago, Kate Osmond, and Anne Chamberlain
All of these members are featured in a Maryland Hall Artists in Residence Program exhibition from Mar 3rd through Apr 9th in the Martino Gallery. The show features a variety of media such as painting, ceramics, and sculpture pieces.

Terry will be on of the guest artists featured in the 2016 Guest Artists Show at Main Street Gallery (216 Main St, Annapolis, MD 21401). The show runs from Mar 9th through Apr 3rd with an opening reception om Mar 12th from 5:00PM – 7:30PM.

Staci and Bill were given the First Place Ribbon and Award for Two Dimensional Art at the 32nd Annual Sanibel Arts and Crafts Festival.
MFA Member Gail Sims
Gail’s piece, the “San Juan River”, has been accepted into Water is Life- Clean Water and its Impact on the Lives of Women and Girls Around the World which opens in Mar at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland. This show will travel next to the US Embassy in Rome, Italy in October, and then on to the New England Quilt Museum, Lowell, Massachusetts in Feb, 2017.
MFA Member Stanley Wenocur
Stanley will be exhibiting his work in the main gallery of the Delaplaine Visual Arts and Education Center (40 S Carroll St, Frederick, MD 21701) from Apr 2nd to May 1st. He will be hosting a special artist’s reception on Apr 2nd from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. The Delaplaine Center’s regular opening reception for its three galleries will take place on Apr 2nd from 3:00PM – 5:00PM

MFA Member Elaine Weiner-Reed
Elaine’s painting “Let’s Keep on Dancing” was selected by Juror and Xanadu Gallery owner Jason Horejs for the annual Studio Channel Islands COLLECTORS CHOICE fundraiser at The Blackboard Gallery, (Ventura Blvd, Camarillo, CA).
Her painting “Joined at the Heart” was selected as a winner in ArtQuench Gallery’s Best International Creatives 2016 competition. Look for it to be published online in early March at artquenchgallery.com.
Save the date for her solo show, Revealing Layers, opening reception on May 14th at the Bernice Kish Gallery at Slayton House in Columbia, MD.

Linda has a show coming up featuring art about the people she encountered on a recent trip to Bhutan and North India at the Expanding Heart Center (208 West Patrick Street Frederick, MD 21701). The show starts Mar 9th and goes through May 3rd.

bigelow and Patrice are both participating in Maryland Hall’s Spring AIR, a group exhibition showcasing six of Maryland Hall’s Artists In Residence in a variety a media such as painting, ceramics, and sculpture. The show starts Mar 8th and goes till Apr 9th in the Martino and Openshaw galleries.
MFA Member Rebecca Myers
Rebecca has an exhibit now up at the Wiedner University Commonwealth Law School (3800 Vartan Way, Harrisburg, PA 17110) sponsored by the Art Association of Harrisburg. The exhibit opens Mar 1st and runs through May 31st.
MFA Member Kay Fuller
Kay has joined up with Anne Barbieri and Robert Sulkin for an exhibit at the Arts Club in DC (2017 I St NW, Washington, DC 20006). The exhibit will remain throughout the month of March.

NEW: He also has a solo exhibition at the Arundle Center that runs through Apr 15th sponsored by the Arts Council of Anne Arundle County. In addition, he was also juried into the Spring Colors exhibition sponsored by ACAAC. The show hangs in the Anne Arundle Medical Center through Jun 10th.

Maureen’s piece “Confident” has been accepted into the Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts national exhibit For and About Women. The exhibition runs from Feb 27th through Mar 27th.
MFA Member Richard Paul Weiblinger
Richard’s piece “Lotus Glowing” has been selected for an exhibition at the Columbia Art Center Gallery titled Blossums of Hope 2016: Moving Forward.
He was also recently awarded second pace in the LAG 47th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Montpelier Arts Center. That show runs from March 8th through 27th.
Richards piece “Red Cabanas” has been selected for”Red” at the A. Smith Gallery (103 N Nugent Ave, Johnson City, TX).
MFA Member April Rimpo
During March, April Rimpo is exhibiting her contemporary figurative paintings as part of Figure Eight Plus One at Touchstone Gallery (901 New York Ave NW, Washington DC). Eight Touchstone Gallery 2D-artists plus one sculptor combine their works to flesh out the human form through photography, paintings ranging from the abstracted to representational, and sculpture.

Studio Space For Rent!
Chuck Walsh is renting out the space that used to house Ant Farm at 47 Spa Road, Annapolis MD in the Annapolis Arts District. Its a 1427 sq. ft space that can be shared by two or three tenants. For more information, read Chucks Craigslist ad here!
Carolyn Russell is hosting two Photoshop workshops, one for beginners and another for people to sharpen their skills, both at Anne Arundel Community College.
The beginner class teaches all the basics of modifying images, from retouching to color corrections. The three sessions start April 9th and run through the 23rd, from 8:30AM to 12:45PM.
The level 2 class teaches more advanced students how to accomplish master image effects, including faded textures and illuminations, and how to manage work more efficiently. Prerequisite of CTT 338 Adobe Photoshop-Level 1. There will be three sessions starting Apr 30th and run through May 14th, all start at 8:30AM – 12:45PM on the AACC main campus.
Figure Sculpture Co-op at MD Hall
Whether you are interested in traditional or abstract figurative sculpture, join the Figure Sculpture Co-op. The Co-op provides members with an opportunity to work in a relaxed and collegial environment with a professional figure model using the sculptures medium of choice.
Models return to their pose for three to five weeks allowing artists to progress towards completion of a single piece or to work on several maquettes. Attendees work with their own materials and tools. No critique or instruction is provided. New to sculpture, returning after a long break, or a working artist; all levels are welcome.
