MFA Member Gina Pierleoni

Gina has had two pieces selected for The Light Ekphrastic, which is a quarterly online journal dedicated to the creation of new written and visual artworks through collaboration between artists. Check out the article and her piece here!

MFA Member Richard Paul Weiblinger

Richard had his pieces selected for Artist as Maker, Thinker, and Feeler, national juried exhibition, at the Cade Gallery (101 College Pkwy, Arnold, MD 21012). The show is up till December 19th.

Richard would like to announce that four of his pieces have been selected for Singular Sensations, an invitational juried exhibition at the Columbia Arts Center (6100 Foreland Garth, Columbia, MD 21045), that will be up through December 16th.

Richard  has his photograph selected for Light and Movement, juried exhibition at the Watergate Gallery (2552 Virginia Ave NW, Washington, DC 20037); the show runs through January 14th.

NEW: Richard had a piece selected for a juried exhibition at the Maryland Art Place Gallery (218 W Saratoga St, Baltimore, MD 21201). The show runs through December 14th.

MFA Member Sheila Guevin

Sheila is apart of the Fall on the Chesapeake show hosted by What’s Up? Magazine.  The show runs till May 2017.  Her piece, “City Dock Tango”, won runner up and will be featured in the upcoming What’s Up? issue. Read the article about the event as well as look at photos here!

Sheila also has a solo show currently on exhibit with 47 photographs from four different collections at UUCR (100 Welsh Park Dr, Rockville, MD). The show runs through February 2017.

MFA Members Janet Ewing, Anne Sieling, and Robert Caffrey

Janet, Anne, and Robert would like to announce their joint exhibit titled Joy of Painting at Gallery 333. The show runs from November 3rd through December 28th.

Gallery 333 is located inside the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis (333 Dubois Rd, Annapolis, Md. 21401).  Self tour hours are between 9AM and 3PM Monday-Thursday.

MFA Member Elizabeth Burin

Elizabeth has a new show up called Near and Far at the Bismark/Wilson Gallery (1760 Bank Street | Baltimore, MD 21231), viewing hours by appointment. The show opens November 13th and runs though January 8th. There will be a closing reception on January 8th from 1:00-4:00PM.

University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building Request for Qualifications 

Deadline, Thurs., Dec. 15, 5:00 PM ET

The Maryland State Arts Council and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) are now accepting applications for the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building public art project. Artists residing in the United States are eligible to apply. The permanent public artwork will be two-dimensional integrated on three large interior walls viewable from the first and second floors in the main hallway – student commons area.

The artwork Concept Design Development fee is $20,000. The artwork project budget is $180,000. The Artist Selection Committee will select up to three to four artists or artist teams for in-person interviews. One final artist or artist team will be selected and enter into a Concept Design Development contract to develop the design for the artwork. When final design is approved, the artist or artist team will enter into a fabrication and installation contract with UMBC.

Image & Imagination: Anne Arundel County Juried Exhibition 2017

The Mitchell Gallery is pleased to present this juried, multi-media biennial exhibition of artists who live or work in Anne Arundel County. Works created in diverse media within the last two years will be on display and features both two-and three-dimensional artwork. Christopher With, educator (retired) National Gallery of Art and current president of The Washington Print Club, is the exhibition juror.
