Paint Annapolis Spotlight: Perry Kapsch

We’re excited to present the 30 juried artists for Paint Annapolis 2017! Come see them paint June 4th-11th around Annapolis and the greater Anne Arundel County area.

Perry Kapsch lives and works on her family’s farm where she grew up near Poolesville, Maryland.  Born in Washington, DC, she studied watercolor as a child in Japan and turned to oil painting in 2006.  Painting in both media for her is an endless fascination with color and its dance with light.

The country fields and forests are her sources of inspiration together with her horses and the other farm animals as are the years spent sailing the Atlantic, Caribbean and Mediterranean as well as in all weather on the Chesapeake Bay.

A Plein air painter and children’s book illustrator, she has received a number of awards including the Caruso Prize. Her work may be seen at local and national shows, both juried and unjuried, and on her website,

Now a full-time painter and illustrator, she painted and sketched around the edges of varied careers as a stock broker, floral designer, editor/publisher and preservationist/conservationist.
