MFA Member Richard Weiblinger
Weiblinger’s piece received an Honorable Mention at the Hill Center Galleries Regional Juried Exhibit (921 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003). The show runs from June 28 through Oct 1.
Weiblinger has a solo show currently up at the Glen Echo Park Viewing Gallery (7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, MD 20812). The show runs through Sep 23.
NEW: Weiblinger has two pieces in the juried invitational show “Foodies” at the Photoworks Gallery. The show runs till Oct 22.
MFA Member Wil Scott
Scott’s piece, TJ’s Lunch Counter, was selected by juror Claude Elliott for inclusion in the Hill Center‘s Regional Juried Exhibition (921 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003). The show runs from now through Oct 1.
Scott received an Excellence Award for Human Intrest and Portraiture in The Soul of Photography exhibition at The RiverArts Gallery (315 High St #106, Chestertown, MD 21620) for his piece On the Tram, Lisbon.
Scott had several pieces selected for “Global Perspectives” on MFA Curve Gallery. Check it out online through Sep 21, 2017.
Several of Scott’s piece, including Girl, Concentration, and Monk on the Beach, will be on display in the What’s Up Magazine offices (201 Defense Hwy #203, Annapolis, MD 21401) from Aug 10 through Nov 20, 2017.
Scott’s pieces Red Nude and After the Storm have been selected for “Captured Beauty” at the Del Ray Artisans and Union 209 Studio (2704 Mt Vernon Ave, Alexandria, VA 22301). The show runs from Oct 6 – 29.
And his piece TJ’s Lunch Counter was selected for the National Juried (all media) Art Show at Larkin Arts (61 Court Square, Harrisonburg, VA 22801). The show runs from Oct 6 – 28.
NEW: Scott’s piece Red Nude was accepted into the 4th Open Call Exhibition at the Providence Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts. The show runs from Oct 12 – Nov 3.
MFA Member Meredith Morris
Morris had three pieced juried into “Art at the Mill” at the Burwell-Morgan Mill (15 Tannery Ln, Millwood, VA 22646). The show runs from Sep 30 through Oct 15. Click here for more info about the event!
MFA Member Elaine Weiner-Reed
Weiner-Reed participated in a two-week Poland and EU sponsored and funded International Artist Residency – July 2017 & several related group art exhibitions in Poland.
She also has a Solo Exhibition called “Masks and Mirrors: Beyond Reality” at MFA Holley Gallery (18 State Circle, Annapolis MD 21401) which runs from Sep 13 through 28, 2017. Weiner-Reed’s Formal Opening Reception begins at 2 p.m. on Sep 24 with an Artist-led Gallery Talk and special Mask-related activity. The Reception will run through 5 p.m. Come prepared to see exciting new artwork by Elaine Weiner-Reed and to think, as we together explore the ‘reality’ we see in the mirror… There will be videos and discussions about why and how masks are as relevant in today’s society as they were in ceremonies and historical situations and primitive cultures.

MFA Member Jim Mackey
Mackey is the Hanover Area Arts Guild’s Artist of the Month! Congrats, Jim!
His work is in galleries, exhibits, and collections throughout the southern Pennsylvania and northern Maryland region. In addition to our Arts Guild, Jim maintains memberships in numerous arts organizations including those in Chambersburg, Shippensburg, and Hagerstown, as well as the Maryland Federation of Art. Jim credits The Garage Studios in Chambersburg with providing him long and constant support for his work.
Also, Mackey had a piece selected for “Naked in New Hope” at Sidetracks Art Gallery (2 Stockton Ave, New Hope, PA 18938). The show runs from now through Oct 28.

MFA Member Jayne Shatz
You may have seen one of Shatz’s pottery-focused art videos before, her Ceramic Classroom series, and now she’s back with a new one on weighing out a glaze plus proper sieving and different safety equipment for glazing.
“Safety in a ceramic studio is paramount to me and this video offers great advice for the studio potter who does not have access to commercial ventilation systems.”

Sieling has had a picture selected for “Shades of Pastel – 2017” at The Glenview Mansion Art Gallery, Rockville, MD which runs from Oct 15 through Nov 17.
MFA Member Sally Davies
Davies’ watercolor triptych Rush Hour Rain has been juried into the Hill Center Regional Juried Exhibit (921 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003). The juror is Claude L. Elliott, Curator and Arts Consultant. The show will be on display from June 28 through Oct 1.
Davies had her painting Romance (Central Park Lake, NYC) juried into the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society’s 38th Annual International Exhibition at the Adams County Arts Council, Gettysburg, PA which runs from Sep 11 through Oct 28.
MFA Member Cindi Lewis
Lewis’ latest solo art show, “Themes & Variations,” explores how an image changes when depicted in different media or with different techniques. The show will display prints (monotypes and etchings) and paintings (oils and watercolors) in pairs or trios that depict the same image in different media (e.g., oil and etching) or different techniques (e.g., line etching and aquatint or prints with and without the addition of other media). The show, at Gallery Underground in VA (2100 Crystal Drive, Suite 2120-A, Arlington, VA 22202), runs from Aug 28 through Sep 29.
MFA Member Andree Tullier
Tullier’s piece Pink Toe Shoes was juried into Maryland Pastel Society’s national exhibit “Shades of Pastel: 2017”, by Desmond O’Hagan. The exhibit is open from Oct 15 through Nov 17 at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery in MD (603 Edmonston Dr, Rockville, MD 20851). Mr. O’Hagan will give a demonstration Oct 15 at noon with the reception and awards following from 1:30-3:30.
Tullier was awarded First Place for her painting Old Charm (oil, 16×12) in the Art League of Ocean City’s plein air painting competition. She also received an Honorable Mention in the Quick Draw. Congrats, Andree!
Tullier also has classes for teens at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts which are open for registration. The classes include Pastel Portraiture, Foundations of Drawing, Intro to Oils and Figure Drawing for Teens. Check out MD Hall for more info and to sign your teens up.
MFA Member Cam Miller
Miller’s image The Guardian was recently awarded Best of the Professional Division at the 2017 Art in Nature photography festival at the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art in Salisbury, MD. Nearly 1000 photographs from 170 photographers were submitted to this annual competition. Miller’s art also received a Second Place and several Third Place awards for her other entries.
In addition to the competition, Miller gave a presentation on using software to create “painterly” images from photos, and she led a group on a tour through Blackwater Wildlife Refuge.
MFA Member April Rimpo
Rimpo’s painting The Bakery was selected by Juror Jeanne Dobie for The Pennsylvania Watercolor Society’s 38th Annual International Juried Exhibition. The exhibit is on display at The Adams County Arts Council (125 South Washington Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325) from Sep 11 through Oct 28, 2017.
Rimpo’s painting Movement III will be on exhibit as part of the International Society of Experimental Artists’ International Exhibition on Sanibel Island, Florida during October and November 2017.
MFA Member Meredith Morris
Morris’ mixed media portrait Not a Pretty Picture has been juried into the Zenith Gallery show “RESIST”. Her piece is on display at Busboys and Poets at their Takoma Park location (235 Carroll St NW, Washington, DC 20012) through October 15, 2017.
MFA Member Sarna Marcus
Marcus is having a solo show at Foundry Gallery. The show runs from Aug 30 through Oct 1. Marcus will be doing an artist’s tour with commentary on Oct 1, 2 – 3:30 p.m.
