Hall has been juried into the 4th Annual National Juried Exhibition – (Oxford Arts Alliance). This is the annual national juried exhibit of the Oxford Arts Alliance in Oxford PA. The opening reception is Oct 19, 5-8pm; Awards Reception Oct 21, 1pm; Closing Reception Nov 8, 6-8pm. Learn more here.

MFA Member Alan Rhody

One of 66 artists selected for MFA’s Fall Member Show (out of 411 entries) by juror Hai-Ou Hou Juror, Director of Chesapeake Fine Art Studio. Rhody will be showing his handcrafted marble sculpture, “Betty in Her Bubble Bath” (revised version). Sept 27  – Oct 20.

International exhibition at one of Hudson Valley’s most exciting new galleries. Three of his marble sculptures  and one alabaster piece were showcased. ART AT LEEDS GALLERY – 1079 RT 23B, Leeds, NY 12451 (Catskills).


Juried show featuring technology as art. Display included holograms Rhody produced under the direction of H. Kagan (Ohio State Univ Physics Dept) as part of an artist-in-residence award from the Center For Holographic Arts.


MFA Member Schmidt

The 2018 Sylvia Maria Glesmann Floral Exhibition is happy to have Schmidt’s artwork in their show from Sept 24- Oct 5th! The Salmagundi Club was founded in 1871 and has been dedicated primarily to the exhibition of fine art created by living American artists since then. The Salmagundi Club is located at 47 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY. Show hours  are Monday to Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Closing reception on Friday, October 5, from 7 to 9 p.m.

MFA Member April Rimpo

April Rimpo had her watermedia paintings for two National Landscapes Exhibits. Her Fluid Acrylic “Rush Hour” is on exhibit in MFA’s American Landscapes at Circle Gallery, and her watercolor, “City Reflections II”, is at 311 Gallery’s National Landscape and Seascape Exhibit at 311 W. Martin St in Raleigh, NC. April was awarded Second Place in the exhibit at 311 Gallery. April’s painting was awarded Second Place in this exhibition. 311 Gallery has held their annual National exhibit for several years and attracts artists from across the country. This year the First Place winner is from Los Angeles and an Honorable Mention recipient is from Ohio. Other awardees were from Raleigh.


Rimpo’s painting “Windows” is one of 69 artists with painting on exhibit in the International Society of Acrylic Painters 2018 International Online Juried Exhibit, which can be viewed at

Rimpo is teaching a 2-Day Workshop in Fluid Acrylics at the Columbia Art Center at 6100 Foreland Garth, Columbia, MD 21043 on October 13 and 14, from 10 – 4pm. To register call 410-730-0075.


MFA Member Gayle Mangan Kassal

The BWI art gallery features works by artists from around the region; Maryland First Lady Yumi Hogan chaired the jury panel that selected the various artworks. I am very honored my work titled River Dance was selected. This pastel painting which is 39″ x 89”, was enlarged to 8 feet square. Located in Gallery D, between the D and E terminals, it is behind security. It is now up and will be hanging from July until December, then again on a rotating schedule with other works.

MFA Member Sun Young Kang

Kang’s work In Between Presence and Absence and Freezing Moments to Turn Them into Eternity (망각속에 기록하기) will be part of the solo shows/installation series of the festival which will be installed at The Display Area Gallery and Corridor Gallery respectively.

MFA Member Lee Goodwin

The BlackRock Center for the Arts has asked Goodwin to provide a photo for an exhibit celebrating the Center’s 15th anniversary. The photo they requested is Lock 7 in Fog, which is one of Goodwin’s favorites, but one that they rarely have an opportunity to show any more.  It is a traditional gelatin silver darkroom print of a photo taken along the C&O Canal with a Mamiya 7 medium format camera, which was their main camera for years until they went digital. The exhibit will run from September 8 to October 12 at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, MD. The BlackRock Center is a beautiful venue, and Goodwin had one of their first exhibits there in 2009 (Lock 7 was included in that exhibit). “Making a Move on the Utz Girl” has been accepted into Hill Center Galleries Regional Juried Exhibition by juror Annette Polan, Portrait Artist and Professor Emerita, Corcoran College of Art + Design, The George Washington University, June 27- Sept 22, with a reception on  June 27, 6:30- 8:30.
