Call for Entries

Our esteemed jury is looking for compelling, dynamic and impactful images that tell the story of the challenges facing those people living in human rights crisis zones as well as photos of hope that depict the heroes working to deliver solutions to the difficult realities in their regions.

  • All photography must relate to human rights issues illustrating courage, despair, hope, injustice, hate, compassion, human rights failures or victories in ways small and large.
  • All images must be taken within three years of entry date.
  • Image file extensions accepted: JPG, JPEG. Accepted file size: 5MB – 20MB.
  • Color must be RGB or sRGB format.
  • All entrants may submit up to 5 photographs.
  • A high resolution file will be required for finalists.

CHAG are an online art gallery that can offer different benefits than a physical art gallery. Such as international exposure, works will be archived and able to be viewed over and over giving you constant exposure, building traffic to your website, no cost in transporting artwork, no risk of your work being damaged, and CHAG are commission free.

Eligibility:

  • All artists 18 and over may enter.
  • Media: 2D works in all types of media
  • Judging Criteria: Originality, interpretation, quality, demonstration of ability, and usage of medium

Entry Fee: $20 for 1 or 2 pieces (You may enter more than once if you have additional works.)

Image Requirements:

  • Image should not exceed 2MB.
  • Image should be in jpeg format.
  • Image should not contain any frame, mat, or watermark.
  • Image should be labeled as LastName-FirstName-TitleofArt.jpeg
  • Image should be clear and in focus, this represents your work and it will be displayed / judged the same way it is received.

Wayne Art Center seeks submissions for the AQE 2020 exhibition, a juried group exhibition of contemporary fine art quilts. Selected works will be on display in both the Davenport and Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Galleries of Wayne Art Center in Wayne, Pennsylvania from March 29  through May 2, 2020.

Important Dates: March 29 – May 2, 2020 

Entry fee: $45 per application.

Entry Deadline: 10/13/19

Online Entry Information: Artists may submit up to three works per application. A maximum of four images may be uploaded to show alternate views or details of work.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Artists must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Works submitted must be original in design.
  • Collaborative works are accepted.
  • Work must have been completed in the last two years, after January 1, 2018.
  • Work previously exhibited at Wayne Art Center is not eligible.
  • All work must be for sale.
  • Work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit.

The Arlington Arts Center and the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia are seeking a project that engages the community and is accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. The work should offer opportunities for interactivity and public engagement, whether through direct interaction with the work itself; through public programs to activate the work while it is on view; and/or through community involvement in the production of the work. AAC and CFNOVA encourage interested artists to consider the environmental impact of their proposal and avoid the use of environmentally damaging materials, including Styrofoam or spray paint.

Allegany County, the Mountain Side of Maryland is accepting entries for the 2019 Mountain Maryland Photo Contest, through October 31, 2019. Enter your photos of Allegany County in four different categories for your chance to win cash prizes ranging from $75 to $250!

First through third place photos in each category will appear in the 2020 Visit Mountain Maryland Destination Guide and will be framed and displayed in our partner locations in Frostburg, MD, and Cumberland, MD.

Artist Residency

Maryland Hall accepts applications for our One Year AIR Residencey on an ongoing basis. Rent is $300 for  Studio Space.  All residencies are currently full, however, we recommend that you apply to be put on a waiting list for the next jury process.

Exhibitions Call to Artists

Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts is seeking ongoing exhibition submissions from both local and regional artists for our three gallery spaces. We invite both student and professional artists to apply.

Dedicated to Art for All, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts is the community’s arts center, providing lifelong, accessible engagement in the arts.

Maryland Hall’s goal is to present exhibits that engage audiences on many levels, from community exhibits to curated group and solo exhibits in several galleries: the Chaney Gallery, the Martino Gallery and the Openshaw Balcony Gallery. The gallery season features emerging and established artists in all media, from more accessible, traditional work, to work that questions contemporary culture, methods and ideas. The galleries are open to the public for viewing, artists’ receptions, and sales.
