Call for Entries

Perspective Gallery is pleased to announce our tenth annual juried exhibition of photography, LENS 2020. Photographers are invited to submit work for possible inclusion in the exhibition. All subject matter and photographic processes are welcome.

JUROR: CATHERINE EDELMAN, Owner and Director, Catherine Edelman Gallery, Chicago Since its founding in 1987, Catherine Edelman Gallery has established itself as one of the leading galleries in the US devoted to the exhibition of prominent living photographers, alongside new & young talent. The gallery showcases a broad range of subject matter, attracting both the seasoned collector and first-time buyer. Catherine is an active member of the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) and is widely respected as a leader, educator and specialist in the field of contemporary photography.

SUBMISSIONS Artists are invited to submit up to five (5) photographic images in JPEG form. Images must have been created within the past five years. Artists should complete the entry form and upload their images at: http://perspectivegallery.slideroom.com

ENTRY FEE The fee for submitting up to five (5) images is $40. The fee is non-refundable.

The Professional Competition rewards and showcases the world’s most outstanding bodies of work.

Judges are looking for series that are technically brilliant, exciting and offer a fresh perspective on what contemporary photography can do. They want to uncover work that would otherwise be unseen, and share it with a worldwide audience.

For emerging photographers, the Awards can open doors to publishing deals, gallery representation and worldwide exhibitions. For established artists, the Awards offer a global platform to share personal projects and recognition for your passion for the medium.

Artists can enter multiple series of works to the following categories: Architecture, Creative, Discovery, Documentary, Environment, Landscape, Natural World & Wildlife, Portraiture, Still Life, and Sport.

Gormley Gallery at Notre Dame of Maryland University is now accepting entries for the 31st National Drawing & Print Competitive Exhibition.

ELIGIBILITY AND MEDIA: Drawings and prints (not photography) in any medium up to 60 inches high (with frame) are eligible with no limitations as to color, surface or materials. All drawings and prints must be original works of art. Each artist may submit up to 3 works online only. No mailed or emailed entries will be accepted.

ENTRY FEE: A nonrefundable entry fee of $36 entitles the artist to submit up to three entries.

SUBMISSIONS: Submissions are accepted online

What makes you creative and innovative with your painting? Share your ideas and insights into what kindles your creative spark by entering Splash 22 (courtesy of Artists Network). What is the atmosphere, state of mind, emotion, material or technique that inspires you?

For the Splash 22 contest, we will be looking for paintings that reflect excellence and originality in capturing The Creative Spark, as well as a variety of styles and subjects. If selected, you will be asked to write about your artistic process and inspiration, as well as the manner in which you considered and developed your painting. The dominant medium must be watercolor, though some minor use of other media may be acceptable. You must specify any other media used in addition to watercolor in your application.

Deadlines: December 30 (Early-Bird) or January 15, 2020

m all 2D & 3D women artists regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field. A group exhibition of the top ten finalists will be held online at the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery during the month of January 2020. Awards will be for top 10 places. 

The 2020 event will be the 36th year for this event and we are looking forward to another weekend of great art!
The show will open with the always fun Preview Party on Friday, May 15th.  On Saturday the 16th, at the close of the day, there will be music and a buffet dinner available for artists, guests, volunteers, and others from the community to enjoy.  The final day of the show will be Sunday the 17th.  There will be artist discussions and demos and also activities geared for younger artists throughout the weekend too.

ARC GALLERY: 5/16

“Reflections” can mean the throwing back of light, sound or images by a body or surface, an image you see when you look in a mirror, an image given back by a reflecting surface. It can also be interpreted as a careful thought about something or a thought occurring in consideration or meditation.  Artists are free to interpret “reflections” with either or both of these meanings.

GALLERY & ON-LINE GALLERY: There are two opportunities to get into this show. The juror will select works that will be exhibited in the Arc Gallery at 1246 Folsom Street and works that will be included only on the Arc On-line Gallery.

CATALOG: All artwork selected will be included in the exhibition catalog. Catalogs will be available for order at the time of notification.

ELIGIBILITY: Artists residing in the United States.

Artist Residency

Maryland Hall accepts applications for our One Year AIR Residencey on an ongoing basis. Rent is $300 for  Studio Space.  All residencies are currently full, however, we recommend that you apply to be put on a waiting list for the next jury process.

Exhibitions Call to Artists

Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts is seeking ongoing exhibition submissions from both local and regional artists for our three gallery spaces. We invite both student and professional artists to apply.

Dedicated to Art for All, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts is the community’s arts center, providing lifelong, accessible engagement in the arts.

Maryland Hall’s goal is to present exhibits that engage audiences on many levels, from community exhibits to curated group and solo exhibits in several galleries: the Chaney Gallery, the Martino Gallery and the Openshaw Balcony Gallery. The gallery season features emerging and established artists in all media, from more accessible, traditional work, to work that questions contemporary culture, methods and ideas. The galleries are open to the public for viewing, artists’ receptions, and sales.
