It is vital to support writers in times of need so that they can get back to doing what they do best. The Dramatist Guild Foundation provides emergency financial assistance to individual playwrights, composers, lyricists, and book writers in dire need of funds due to severe hardship or unexpected illness.

DGF Emergency Grants regularly support costs associated with healthcare, childcare, housing, disability, natural disaster relief, and other unforeseen circumstances. DGF does not support requests related to production expenses or taxes, nor requests from individuals not actively seeking employment if they are able to work. Requests typically range between $500-$3,000. Please be advised that DGF does not support all requests.

Maryland’s Eastern Shore has many beautiful vistas of sandy beaches and bucolic farm land, but it is also filled with suburban sprawl, strip malls and chicken houses. The art depicting our area often captures our picturesque beaches, birds, barns, and boats but rarely do we see images of the forgotten and overlooked spaces which are equally a part of this place. HERE/NOT HERE calls on artists to capture, explore, and depict those unscrubbed and often unseen places. We are looking for artwork that tells the stories not often told about the landscape and architecture that have shaped this place we call here. The liminal spaces, the tension zones, and the hap-hazard, slap-dash, crap-laps.

Deadline to Apply: May 1 2020.

The Photographic Resource Center invites entries for EXPOSURE: The 24th Annual PRC Juried Exhibition and seeks a broad range of exhibition-ready bodies of work, including both traditional and non-traditional approaches to photography. Since its inception in 1996, more than 300 photographers have shown in PRC juried exhibitions, including an array of established photographers and those cited as “ones to watch.”  Each year, a respected member of the photographic community—from curators to gallerists to photo editors—is asked to select between 10 to 15 artists for exhibition. The juror then selects between 2 and 4 pieces per person, thus offering artists the opportunity to showcase a series at a deeper level than most juried shows and making for an enriching experience for audiences as well.

*Due to the worldwide COVID-19 crisis the PRC is unable to confirm that EXPOSURE 2020 will be on view in a physical space during the planned dates of July 8 − August 16, 2020. Venue possibilities are being explored for the fall and the public and all accepted artists will be informed as plans solidify. Regardless of mounting a physical show, the exhibition will be online on the PRC website beginning on July 8th.

Entry Fee: $30 ~ Photographers may submit 6 images from a cohesive, exhibition-ready body of work, checklist information, artist statement, and resume.

Submission deadline: May 8th, 2020
