Thoughtful Thursday in an MFA blog series where we talk about what we’re thinking about. Everything from art to cooking, philosophy to viral videos – anything that’s making us thoughtful!

In Annapolis it is uncommon to meet someone who lacks a passion in yachting. Boating to me is a vise, it is a way for me to get out of the house and enjoy the peace and quite the water gives me.

However my vise, my hobby has been made illegal… According to US Sailing (an organization that basically controls all boating), all recreational boating is ban. The only way to legally be on a boat is if you are fishing for your food.

In order to cope I have dug deep into what my interpretation of boating is. It isn’t just being on the water anymore. I’ve looked through paintings of the water and boats that other people have created in order to understand your interpretations. I encourage you all to do the same.
