David Diaz works in oil and pastels and currently lives in Annapolis, MD. He works as a Plein air painter.
He received formal training in the public schools of Western Maryland and Frostburg State University; as well as the University of Maryland, Towson, and Catholic University.
He taught art in Maryland, in both Allegany and Anne Arundel County and has worked with students from elementary through middle school, as well as adult education and private lessons.
David is also the current President of Md. Fed. Of Art, and co-Chair of Exhibitions. He is past Chair of Board of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association and serves as installations lead at Quiet Waters Gallery.
He received the Mayoral Award for his painting “the Hook” in Wexford, Ireland, the largest International Plein Air competition in Europe.
He is honored to be included in the book “100 Plein Air Painters of the Mid-Atlantic” and was the recipient of the 2014 “Annie” award for visual art presented by the Arts Council of Anne Arundel Co.
David has also received awards through participation in Plein Air events and National Juried shows at Md. Federation of Art in Annapolis, including the 4-time winner of prestigious Caruso Award for painting.
His works are included in collections in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
