Members and MFA Exhibitions
MFA is hosting three juried exhibitions in April. Flora or Fauna, a nature-themed exhibition at the Calvert Marine Museum, has 17 MFA Members involved and we’re hosting a reception where we’ll announce awards on April 11th. At Circle Gallery, we’re exhibiting Art on Paper with 29 Members and a reception on April 18th. Last, we have MASKulinity, a show devoted to the faces and roles of masculinity in society, and we have 23 MFA Members involved.
BWI Exhibit 30: “Hoof, Paw and Claw” with Twelve MFA Members
MFA Members Carolyn Councell, Patrice Drago, Morgan Dwyer, Anita Ewing, Kay Fuller, Alison Gayne, Sheila Guevin, Janice Hendra, Kimmary MacLean, Laurie Putscher, Rick Schimpf, and Wil Scott are some of the artists involved with the current BWI exhibition. This exhibit is located at the Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport between concourses C & D in departures (pre-security) near Departure Door 10 and the UPS Store and can be viewed online here.
What’s Up? Media Exhibit 12: “Unity”
MFA Members Kay Fuller, Merrilyne Hendrickson, Richard Niewerth, Betty Pethel, and Laurie Putscher are all exhibiting at What’s Up? media’s office in a show all about how 2020 pushed us apart and yet somehow closer. See the exhibition online here.
Anne Delano Weathersby & Deborah Schwab
Anne and Deborah are a part of a live event at Gallery 57 West Friday, April 16th. Anne, a photographer, will talk about her approach and preparation to her photo shoots, and capturing the right moment. Sonja of Archeologico Jewelry, has travelled the world in search of unusual beads, stones, and accent pieces to create unique jewelry, each with an attached “story card” containing some history or folklore.More info can be found on Gallery 57 West’s website.
Maureen S. Farrell
Farrell has a solo exhibition on display at the main gallery of the Dorchester Center for the Arts through April 24th, 2021. Her abstract on show are moving into a non-objective phase. Lisa Sheirer and Martin and Victoria Ali
Lisa, Martin, and Victoria are all a part of the April-May exhibition up at Jo Fleming Contemporary Art here in Annapolis. The exhibition titled Botanicals combines these Members as well as other artists in their flowery and rich mediums making for a well timed spring showcase. There will be an open house on May 1st. Jill Tanenbaum is offering Zoom collage classes. The classes are 2-3 hours and you will learn about how to create a collage. You will learn about color, balance, design and technique. You will receive a list of materials that you need to gather and a Zoom link. These classes are a great way to bring together friends and family and you need no experience. Classes are $40 each.
