MFA Members are making the world more creative! Check out what our Members are up to this month.
Members and MFA Exhibitions
MFA is hosting three juried exhibitions in May. Flora or Fauna, a nature-themed exhibition at the Calvert Marine Museum, has 17 MFA Members involved, and the awards were announced early in April. At Circle Gallery, we’re exhibiting the Spring Member Show with only Members (55 of them in fact) and we’re hosting a digital reception on May 16th. Last, we have MASKulinity, a show devoted to the faces and roles of masculinity in society, and we have 23 MFA Members involved.
Delaplaine Arts Center’s 2021 National Juried Exhibition
MFA Members Linda Agar-Hendrix, Christopher Corson, Sally Davies, Antonina Enalieva, Christopher Fowler, David Harris, Stacy Lund Levy, Richard Niewerth, and David Terrar are all participating in the current Delaplaine Art Center’s National Juried Exhibition. The show will be on display through July 11th and you can find more info here.
MFA Member Lesley Giles is honored to have received a 2021 Independent Arts Award from the Maryland State Arts Council, presented by Yumi Hogan at a virtual ceremony. 66 artists were awarded from a submission of 540 highly talented individuals and Lesley is the only awardee from Dorchester County on the Eastern Shore. Her main submission was “Covid Washing Lines,” a series that evolved during Lockdown. Women were clearing out their closets and hanging out laundry which they photographed for social media. “Sally’s Scarves,” featured here, is the first painting in this series.
MFA Member Nico Ambush is working on some interesting new aluminum foil sculptures.
