Members and MFA Exhibitions
In June MFA hosted Paint Annapolis, the plein air juried exhibition. At Circle Gallery and at our Paint Annapolis Pop Up Gallery, hosted more than 20 MFA Member artists as a part of the plein air exhibition. Check out the June 11 digital award reception here.
This July, MFA is hosting the online exhibition, Food for Thought, with artwork reflecting on the creation, preparation, consumption, or communal aspect of food. It is open in the online Curve Gallery through July 31. Come see art by MFA members displayed in Annapolis Restaurants. Eye of the Beholder, the Art of the Found Object, is on display at Circle Gallery through July 24.
Eye of the Beholder
This found object exhibition showcases works of fine art created with found objects by eighteen MFA members: Don Weaver, Maggy Aston, Jim Mackey, Linda Popp, Donna McGee, Andrew Wohl, Susan Fine, Judy Folkenberg, Ed Gross, Loring Boglioli, Nadia Goldstein, Malka Kutnick, Neil Dreibelbis, Jeffrey Bohlander, Julia Burzon, George Bunker, Natalie Ogilvie, and Antonina Enalieva. Annapolis Restaurants
Enjoy a meal and view wonderful art at Annapolis restaurants. MFA member George Sass’s photography is on display at Soul on Cherry Grove Ave, Annapolis. MFA member Cynthia Ann Shumaker’s paintings are displayed at Paul’s Homewood Cafe on West Street, Annapolis. Learn more about Annapolis restaurants here.
Chris Fowler
Chris Fowler’s piece, The Bedroom on the Island, was accepted into the “Use Other Door” show at the Core Contemporary Gallery in Las Vegas.
Another two pieces, Church Circle and Dockside, were accepted into the July-August show of the Jones Gallery in Kansas City, MO.
His pieces, Canal Road and Kapalua, were accepted into the “H2O” show at the Virginia Beach Art Center in Virginia Beach, VA.

Jayne Shatz
This summer, MFA member Jayne Shatz is showing three artworks at the Chesapeake Art Center for their exhibition, “Art Created During Covid,” through July 31. You can visit the Hal Gomer Gallery Monday – Friday from 10 AM – 6 PM by reserving an appointment. Masks are required. Learn more about the exhibit here.

Kimmary MacLean
MFA member Kimmary MacLean has two pieces displayed with the Annapolis Arts Alliance at Ginger Cove for their summer exhibit “Another Summer Day.”
Last month, MacLean had a solo exhibition at the Patuxent Research Refuge, Hollingsworth Art Gallery. Artwork from her solo exhibit at Hollingsworth Gallery is featured below. Learn more about the Hollingsworth Gallery here.

Elizabeth Burin
MFA member Elizabeth Burin had artwork displayed in the Liriodendron Mansion group show, “Liquid and Translucent: Watercolors by Elizabeth Burin, Joan-Elisabeth Reid, and Annabelle Thurlow” at The Liriodendron Mansion. The Liriodendron Mansion is a charming venue set in a lovely park. The exhibit was open through June 23. Learn more about the exhibition here.
Lee Goodwin
MFA Member Lee Goodwin had three photographs in the C&O Canal 50th Anniversary Photography Exhibit, which was held at the Washington County Arts Council’s gallery this spring. Goodwin received First Place for his photograph, December Morning at Pennyfield Lock and Best in Show for March Morning at Great Falls Tavern. Although the exhibition has passed you can view his work on the Washington County Arts Council’s Youtube page here.
