Thank you to everyone who supported our very first Empty Bowls project!  The energy in Circle Gallery as people came in to pick up their bowls over the weekend was so much fun to witness.  It was great to have people who may not have heard of us come in and take in MFA’s Eye of the Beholder, Art of the Found Object, exhibit while mulling over all of the many beautiful choices of bowls.

Because of so many of you, MFA was able to exceed our goal and will be donating 100% of the proceeds received (over $4000) to the Asbury United Methodist Church Food Pantry to help our neighbors put food on their tables.

Not only could MFA not have met this goal without your support, we also need to thank John Jensen, the students of St. John’s College, and our artist members who helped toss, sculpt, and paint all of the bowls. Thank you to A Friendly Bread who provided the bread that came with the bowls.

We’d also like to thank the Anne Arundel County Arts Council who helped to create and fund this project.

We are already thinking about how to continue to harness and combine art, community, and philanthropy to benefit those in need in our community and we hope you’ll join us in our next social project!
