MFA @ Annapolis Restaurants

Enjoy a meal and view wonderful art at Annapolis restaurants. Printmaker Kathleen Gallagher and painter Linda Perry are now exhibiting at Paul’s Homewood Café, a restaurant blending Chesapeake staples with traditional Mediterranean cuisine.

Join us in celebrating their beautiful exhibition at Paul’s Homewood Café on September 14, 4:30 – 6:30 PM. Simple appetizers will be available along with a cash bar.

Jen Sterling

MFA Member Jen Sterling has a show at Quiet Waters Gallery that is on display through Oct 10. Learn more on their website here.

Meredith Morris

MFA Member Meredith Morris’ painting American Beauty has been selected for The 30th Annual Exhibition at Strathmore whose theme this year is ‘Touch.’ The show runs from September 7 – October 30. The reception will be at the Mansion at Strathmore, North Bethesda, Maryland on Sept 9. See their website for times and updates.


Further, Harry Cooper, Head Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Art in Washington juried her painting Long Time Coming in to 26th Annual Friends of the Yellow Barn members show where it received an award. The show is online through November 2021. The judges critique of Morris’ painting is on her website.

Carey Crane

MFA Member Carey Crane has a new show open at Jo Fleming Contemporary Art Gallery through September 25. The abstract exhibition called Watermarks, explores the theme of water. This diverse selection of artwork includes acrylic and oil paintings, digital photography and sculpture by regional artists including Carey Crane. The Gallery is located at 68 Maryland Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401 and is open Wednesday – Saturday, 12 – 5 PM.

Gail Higginbotham

MFA Member Gail Higginbotham is the Featured Artist exhibiting through August at West Annapolis Artworks and Fine Framing, 4 Annapolis Street.

Deborah Kommalan

MFA Member Deborah Kommalan’s latest chalkboard painting is on display at McBride Gallery in Annapolis, MD.

Mary Ellen Geissenhainer

MFA Member Mary Ellen Geissenhainer has artwork on display in two shows this month. An exhibit by the Colored Pencil Society of America, Metro Washington Chapter called, called To the Point, features her work through October 9. She is also featured in MFA’s Fall Member Show which opens on September 22 – October 16 at Circle Gallery, 18 State Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401.

Richard Hall

Hear from MFA Member Richard Hall:

“I was fortunate to win Best in Show at the RiverArts (Chestertown) Judged Photography Show on the theme ‘Light and Dark’. My piece was a black and white image of a country church titled Afternoon Shadows. The judge was Daniel Kraus on the faculty of the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at the PA College of Art and Design. The show will run through the month of September at the Chestertown RiverArts gallery in downtown Chestertown, MD.”

Richard Weiblinger

MFA Member Richard Weiblinger was selected for a 2021 invitational juried exhibition at The Mansion Gallery at Strathmore. This show is open through October 30 at 10701 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD.

Jim Mackey

MFA Member Jim Mackey has three pieces accepted into The Washington County Arts Council’s addiction recovery show called Washington Goes Purple. Located on 34 South Potomac Street, Suite 100, Hagerstown, MD 21740. The show is open through September 28, Tuesday – Friday 11 AM- 5 PM and Saturday 10 AM-4 PM.

Mackey has a piece called Red Head, selected for a show titled, ‘Color’ at Council For The Arts at 103 North Main Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. The show is open through September 25.
