ANNMARIE SCULPTURE GARDEN & ARTS CENTER – Adorned: Art Inspired by Fabric and Fashion

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center invites emerging and established artists to submit original artworks to the juried exhibition ‘Adorned: Inspired by Fabric and Fashion’. This is a national juried exhibition. All media and performance welcome; small to large-scale works; cash awards.

‘Adorned: Inspired by Fabric and Fashion’ will bring together artists who construct their work through adornment as methods for revealing, or concealing, identities. The goal of the exhibition is to include work rooted in material exploration with an interest in pattern, fabric, and fashion. This exhibition will be open to the public February 11 – May 8, 2022. Entry fee.

DERWENT CUMBERLAND PENCIL COMPANY – The Derwent Art Prize

Deadline: January 4, 2022

Medium: Pencil

The contest is organized by the Derwent Cumberland Pencil Company. Artists are invited to submit up to 6 images. The submited work must be created in pencil. You can use any pencil including water-soluble, pastel, graphite, charcoal or coloured pencils. The work must not exceed 182cm in its greatest dimension. Only works produced within the last 3 years are acceptable. Entry Fee.

MARYLAND FEDERATION OF ART – Street Scenes

Deadline: January 5, 2022

Medium: All

Show us what resonates with you in towns and cities, large and small; the people, shops, traffic – anything at all that evokes a distinctive sense of a place. Streets, lanes, and country roads tell the stories of communities and what we see there defines a place in our memories. Entries are open internationally for MFA’s (Maryland Federation of Art) online-only exhibition.

PERSPECTIVE FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY – Lens 2022

Perspective Gallery is pleased to announce our twelfth annual juried exhibition of photography, LENS 2022. Photographers are invited to submit work for possible inclusion in the exhibition. All subject matter and photographic processes are welcome. JUROR: Karen Irvine, Chief Curator and Deputy Director, Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago. MARYLAND FEDERATION OF ART – Art on Paper

A juried competition at Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) that invites all artists residing in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico to enter its 45th annual Art on Paper exhibition. Excluding digital photography, any original 2D or 3D work created on or of paper including but not limited to, collage, artist book, origami, printmaking, painting, sculpture, analog photography, and more, will be considered by the juror.

MARYLAND FEDERATION OF ART – Paint Annapolis 2022

Paint Annapolis is a seven-day juried plein air painting competition held June 5 – 12, 2022, that brings artists from across North America and Europe to Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. For 21 years, Paint Annapolis has been a premier outdoor painting event, bringing together artists and patrons to paint a community where colonial architecture meets maritime heritage. Paint Annapolis 2022 is presented by Maryland Federation of Art (MFA), a 59-year-old non-profit organization committed to exhibiting new and innovative art created by living artists.

ARC GALLERY – Face to Face

After a couple years of coping with the pandemic and the isolation that many have experienced, we have come to value face to face interactions with others. And many of us have encountered coming face to face with our own selves. Being “face to face” can simply mean looking at someone in close proximity. But upon further investigation, “face to face” can be interpreted in many ways. The physical act of seeing someone face to face can mean seeing them in the flesh or via a screen. It can be looking at an individual or seeing a multitude of people in many different locations via video-conferencing. Gallery encourages you to submit works within these wide interpretations of this theme. Entry fee.
