We’re excited to welcome Lissa Abrams from Baltimore, Maryland as a juried artist for Paint Annapolis 2022! Lissa is a graduate of Tufts University. In April 2011, Lissa retired from the Maryland Mental Hygiene Administration where she served as Deputy Director.

Since her career change, Lissa devotes herself to painting. Lissa has taken art courses at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Zoll Art Studio, and currently studies with Paul Moscatt, and Bethanne Kinsella Cople.

“Each painting brings a new opportunity for growth and learning. Interpreting the mystique of the landscape on canvas is an exciting and wonderful challenge.“
– Lissa Abrams

Lissa cites herself as tending to be a representational painter and focuses on the human figure and the landscape. She primarily paints, en plein air (outdoors), in Baltimore City, throughout Maryland’s beautiful countryside, the coast, and at many other captivating locations across the country and beyond.
“Oil paints are my preferred medium. I use a combination of palette knife and brushwork that enables me to create texture and depth in my paintings.“
– Lissa Abrams
