We’re excited to welcome Beth-Ann Wilson from Baltimore, Maryland as a juried artist for Paint Annapolis 2022! Beth is a Baltimore-based painter, gallerist, entrepreneur, and community activist.

She is the owner of the Night Owl Gallery, an intimate event and exhibition space in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore, MD. Wilson’s own art focuses on expressive, painted portraiture and landscapes inspired by the places she has traveled to and explored.

Inspiration comes from many sources and Beth-Ann uses paint to convey her ideologies that revolve around equal rights, body positivity, and environmental stewardship.
“Some of my favorite subjects to paint are objects and scenes that are often overlooked. I find beauty in the ugly and the mundane. Nothing invigorates me quite like creating a beautiful painting of a strip mall or a rusted garbage can.“
– Beth-Ann Wilson

Owning Night Owl Gallery has allowed Beth-Ann to work on projects that bring the community together, foster creativity, and encourage investment in the neighborhood. She currently has work held in public and private collections in the United States, England, France, and Thailand.

“To me, that is the poetry of paint. It also represents the metaphor of painting- taking dirt (pigment) and mixing it with a polymer to apply to a surface to make an image is a type of alchemy. The process is magical and transcendental.“
– Beth-Ann Wilson
