Paint Annapolis 2022 Spotlight: Hai-Ou Hou

Paint Annapolis is on the way! Learn more about the juried artists and get yourself ready for this historic Plein air painting festival. 

We’re excited to welcome Hai-Ou Hou from Stevensville, Maryland as a juried artist for Paint Annapolis 2022! Hai-Ou is a plein air painter who specializes in oil.

Hai-Ou Hou was born in Beijing where she studied painting and ceramics at the prestigious Central Institute of Fine Art and Design.

Hai-Ou accepted a teaching post at Hubei Fine Art Institute where she taught painting and design. After immigrating to the United States, she received her Master of Fine Arts from Towson University.

“I love painting from life and Plein air, I love to be inspired from nature… I travel around country to paint from nature and two times a year out of the country to paint plein air and the outdoor portraits.“

Hai-Ou’s work has been widely published and exhibited both nationally and internationally and hangs in many museums, corporate, and private collections. She is the recipient of numerous fine arts honors and awards.
