Paint Annapolis is on the way! Learn more about the juried artists and get yourself ready for this historic Plein air painting festival. 

We’re excited to welcome Vicky Zhou from Washington, DC as a juried artist for Paint Annapolis 2023! Vicky competed last year in Paint Annapolis as a public artist and placed 2nd for the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association Award!

Vicky has a Master of Architecture degree and is an award-winning watercolorist, she loves to paint beautiful landscapes and different architecture around Washington, DC.

She worked as an architect in Washington for 30 years and Vicky is now able to put all of her energy towards her paintings. While traveling she particularly likes to paint en plein air and try and capture the moments and effects of constantly changing light and weather in unfamiliar places.

Vicky uses strong contrast, vivid colors and loose stroke marks to achieve a sense of complexity and portray the stories that unfold around her. Each painting is a success in its own right.

Vicky has won numerous awards including Plein Air Easton 2022 Quick Draw and Paint Annapolis 2022 as a public artist. Vicky’s paintings have been shown in exhibitions at local galleries such as Artists in Middleburg and Art League in Alexandria.

She is a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and is also a member of Potomac Valley Watercolorists, Montgomery Art Association, Loudoun Sketch Club, and Northern Virginia Plein Air Artists.
